The ministry of foreign affairs and international cooperation (MAECI) is offering a grant in favor of foreign citizens not residing in Italy and Italian citizens living abroad (IRE) creating space for all brilliant international students who want to Foster international cultural, scientific, and technological cooperation, to promote Italian language and culture and to support Italians economic system in the world. the for the 2022/2023 academic session.

Eligible master’s degree (Laurea Magistrate 2° Ciclo), Courses of higher education in Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM), Ph.D. program, Research under academic supervision (progestin co-tutela), and Italian Language and Culture Courses.

Application Award

*Tuition Fees: Grantees may be exempted from the payment of enrollment and the tuition fees depending on the policy of each University. An exemption is not granted for courses in the Italian language and Culture for which enrollment fees are due

*Health and Medical insurance: Guarantees will be covered by a health and medical/accident insurance contracted by MAECI for the entire duration of the grant. Insurance coverage will not apply to a device with pre-existing physical and pathological conditions.

*Financial Grant: grantees will receive a monthly allowance of €900 on a quarterly basis which will be paid to the Italian bank account.

A scholarship duration can be 6 and 9 months depending on the type of course. Renewals are granted only to applicants who prove satisfactory academic progress.

All interested candidates applying for Italian Government Scholarships for international students must present their Application form before it’s the deadline, late submission may not be considered.

Application Eligibility

  • Academic Qualification:  Applicants must only be submitted by foreign students not residing in Italy and battalion citizens living abroad (IRE) holding an appropriate academic qualification required for the road to the southern University/Institute.
  • Age Limits: Applicants for Master’s degree/Education in Art, Music, and Dance (AFAM) Programmes/Italian Language and Culture Courses should not be over 28 years old and 364 days by the deadline, with the sole exception of renewals.
  • application for the Ph.D. program should not be over the age of 30 years and 364 days by the deadline with the sole exception of renewal.
  • application for research projects and Academic supervision should not be over 40 years old and the 364 days by the deadline.
  • Language skills and Proficiency: you know that the road in an Italian cost must provide a certificate of their proficiency in the Italian language. The minimum level required is B2 within the common European framework of reference for languages (CEFR).  Candidates who were enrolled in an Italian third course at the university may submit a language certification issued by a language teacher of the university department.
  • in order to enroll in an English short course, applicants must provide a language certificate of their proficiency in the English language. The minimum level required is B2 within the common European framework of reference for languages (CEFR).  Herself 30 ft Asian may be accepted for candidates from countries where English is an official language and who are applying for courses held entirely in English. Proof of proficiency in Italian is not required for courses entirely taught in English.
  • For Italian language and cultural causes, applicants must provide a certificate of their proficiency in the Italian language. The minimum level required is within the common European framework of reference for languages (CEFR).
  • For Ph.D. programs and research projects under academic supervision, no proof of language proficiency is required for Ph.D. programs and research under academic supervision.
